How emotions affect decision making

All of us are aware that our emotions affect our decisions. Emotions can affect not just the nature of the decision, but the pace at which we take a decision. In fact, study & research found that without emotions, we became completely ineffective at making decisions. Emotions also impact teamwork. Therefore, Emotional intelligence play very important role in success & failure of the Leader in Corporate world. Anger, jealousy, sadness are the negative sides of emotions. Anger can lead to impatience, and rash decision-making. Anger & jealousy, in particular, impact on employee’s performance and overall team.


Self-awareness, self-control, motivation, Empathy and social skills are some techniques which Corporate leaders must master over a period of time to overcome above shortcomings. So next time you’re angry, slow down, take a breath, and don’t be so quick to brush off what other people say. Controlling your temper, controlling your stress by being more positive. That is why controlling emotion is an art. It might be hard at the moment, but your future self will thank you when you realize that you avoided a costly mistake.
